Overview

Background & History

Founded in 2008 in Ulaanbaatar, Bichil Globus Finance started as a three-person microcredit operation serving credit-invisible individuals and MSMEs in Mongolia. After securing a USD 1m anchor investment from Australia in 2011 and a non-banking financial license from the Financial Regulatory Commission in 2013, it has grown into one of Mongolia's most established NBFIs, with 7,126 active customers across 16 branches and 65 employees.

Business Model & Lines of Business

Bichil Globus runs a collateral-backed lending franchise with two product families, all secured by tangible assets and priced at 2.9%-3.9% monthly. Automobile Lending (57% of the book) covers both new/used car purchases (tickets up to ~USD 28k, 24-48m) and liquidity loans against customer-owned vehicles (~USD 14k-22k). Other Pledged Lending covers real-estate-secured loans (apartment, property, land; up to ~USD 28k, up to 48m) and a distinctive phone-number-pledged loan (~USD 3k-11k, up to 12m).

Key Milestones

Loan book reached USD 38.25m in 2025 (+28% YoY), with best-in-class credit quality (NPL 2.3% vs sector 8.9%) and strong returns (ROE 32.8%, ROA 12.0%). A recurring public-market issuer via three asset-backed bonds (2022-2024, ~USD 14m total), Bichil Globus was named Mongolia's Best NBFI three times (2021, 2022, 2025), won MNCCI's "Mercury" Entrepreneur of the Year - NBFI 2025, and is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified.
